Created on October 1st 2021, CYCLEVIA is the eco-organization of used oils and lubricants. It gathers 22 lubricant manufacturers, including YORK SAS, representing nearly 80% of the French lubricants market, which have joined forces and worked to ensure the implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) channel.
Consequences for YORK customers
The law n°2020-105 (10/02/2020) on the fight against waste and the circular economy, known as the "AGEC law" has introduced a new system of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) applicable to oils likely to generate waste oils (with the exception of 2T oils) and to greases. Coolants, brake fluids, windscreen washers, ADBLUE and ASPEN are not concerned by the Ecocontribution.
In this new regulatory framework, the eco-organization CYCLEVIA has just obtained its approval from the State, drafted and officially published since March 23rd, 2022. YORK will therefore meet its legal obligations by paying a quarterly ecocontribution to CYCLEVIA, according to its volumes released for consumption, as provided for in Articles L541-10 and the Environmental Code.
The implementation of this ecocontribution has been delayed to April 1st, 2022 due to delays. As a result, the amount of the ecocontribution has been set at 89€/tonne instead of the 69€/tonne initially planned for 2022 for YORK, in order to compensate for the non invoicing from 01/01/2022 to 31/03/2022. This amount may change in 2023.
This ecocontribution is now integrated and reflected in our sales prices since April 1st. Our invoices clearly mention the amount of the ecocontribution for each product concerned by it. Like the General Tax on Polluting Activities (TGAP), the Ecocontribution is determined for one ton. Since most of our lubricants are sold by the liter, the amount of ecocontribution invoiced will take into account the density of each product.
In return for the implementation of the Ecocontribution, the used oil collectors no longer charge for their services since January 1st, 2022 (i.e. a saving for customers of €100 to €150 per ton).
